Is your preschool child having difficulty communicating or learning new skills?
If so, your child may be evaluated through your local school district Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE).

PRESCHOOL EDUCATION 3-5

Children between the ages of 3-5, suspected of having developmental delays, can be evaluated through the child’s local school district Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). Parents/caregivers will need to contact their CPSE office to discuss referring their child.

Children are evaluated through providers that are in contract with Fulton County Public Health and must be found eligible to receive services. After evaluations are completed, a CPSE meeting is held at the school district to review the results and determine eligibility, and services if needed.

The services generally follow a school calendar, however, a six-week summer program is available for severely delayed children to prevent substantial regression of their skills.

For additional information, please contact your local school district’s CPSE.
