The Fulton County Board of Supervisors has launched Jump Start Fulton County
to spur new business development and job growth within the county.
The effort includes the following key initiatives:
1.) SMART WATERS INITIATIVE
The Board of Supervisors commissioned a professional engineering study to develop a model for a regional water and wastewater treatment system. The goal is to coordinate the region’s abundant water resources to promote economic growth and job creation.
2.) SITE SELECTOR ASSESSMENT
International Site Selector Michael Mullis was commissioned to evaluate Fulton and Montgomery Counties’ assets and liabilities to provide an independent expert critique of improvements that need to be made to market the area effectively to outside employers.
3.) IDENTITY BRANDING
Acting upon a recommendation from the Mullis Assessment, the County hired North Star Destination Strategies, an experienced national marketing firm, to create a regional identity or “brand print” for the Fulton-Montgomery region.
4.) SHOVEL-READY SITE-LARGE CAPACITY
This initiative is intended to expedite recruitment of new large-scale employers to our area. The goal is to be fully shovel-ready for “game-changer” size corporate facilities of 200 acres or more. It includes site preparation and permitting for a Regional Business Park on the Fulton-Montgomery County border. The Planning Department has also commenced a comprehensive review to identify at least one additional “game-changer” site within Fulton County.
5.) TRYON MARKETING STRATEGY
The County hired DCG Corplan, an experienced national marketing firm and site selector, to prepare a Targeted Industry Analysis and formal Marketing Plan tailored for development of the Tryon Technology Park.
