Board of Supervisors - Resolutions

 

 

Supervisor BREH offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption:

 

RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FULTON COUNTY POLICE REFORM AND REINVENTION PLAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH NYS EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 203

 

WHEREAS, on June 12, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order 203 requiring each local government in the State to adopt a policing reform plan by April 1, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 271 of 2020 established a Fulton County Police Reform Advisory Committee to provide community stakeholders input; and

WHEREAS, the Fulton County Police Reform Advisory Committee met for deliberations on October 27, 2020, November 10, 2020, December 1, 2020, December 15, 2020 and February 9, 2021; and

WHEREAS, said Advisory Committee, at its meeting on February 9, 2021, endorsed the final draft of a Fulton County Police Reform and Reinvention Plan for consideration by the Board of Supervisors; and

WHEREAS, on March 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. the Board of Supervisors held a Public Hearing to receive comments regarding the Fulton County Police Reform and Reinvention Plan; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the Fulton County Police Reform and Reinvention Plan, as presented to the Committee on Public Safety and placed on file in the Board of Supervisors Office and the County Attorney’s Office, be, and hereby is adopted; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the County Treasurer, County Attorney, Sheriff, Budget Director/County Auditor and Administrative Officer/Clerk of the Board.
