TOURISM COORDINATOR


VACANCY: This is a new position.

SALARY: $62,000

LOCATION: Fulton County Planning Department

 

JOB SUMMARY: This is a management and administrative positon responsible for planning, coordinating and managing Fulton County’s Tourism Marketing Plan and the daily operation of the Gateway to the Adirondacks Visitor Center. The work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Planning Director with wide leeway allowed for the use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision may be exercised over the work of professional and non-professional staff and volunteers. Does related work as required.

APPOINTMENT: A provisional appointment will be made of a candidate meeting the following minimum qualifications either:

  1. A Master’s Degree and two years of administration and managerial experience in tourism development, advertising, business development, marketing activities or a closely related field which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or

  2. A bachelor’s Degree and four years of administration or managerial experience in tourism development, advertising, business development, marketing activities or a closely related field; two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

  3. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate to the vehicles operated.
