WHEREAS, in 1984, President Ronald Regan proclaimed the first full week of May as “National Correctional Officers Week”; and WHEREAS, Correctional Officers have the difficult and often dangerous assignment of ensuring the custody, safety and well-being of the numerous inmates in our Nation’s prisons and jails; and

WHEREAS, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department Corrections Officers have displayed professionalism, dedication and courage in the performance of their demanding roles; and WHEREAS, in 2020 our Corrections Officers continue to play a vital role during the stressful environment of the COVID-19 pandemic; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the Board of Supervisors hereby acknowledges the difficult job Corrections Officers perform in their daily interaction with inmates at the Fulton County Correctional Facility; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the Board of Supervisors hereby expresses its appreciation to Fulton County Corrections Officers during “National Correctional Officers Week”.
