Do I need prior approval before my first visit?

No. You do not need prior approval to visit an inmate.

If the inmate has only been in the facility for 24 hours or less you can call the facility and set up an initial visit. 

Can I place a telephone call to an Offender?

No. You cannot telephone an inmate, but you can call the facility with a phone number that can be given to the inmate to call you.

You will need to set up a phone account with GTL at 1-800-483-8314, in order for the inmate to call.

What do I need to bring in order to visit?

For those 16 years of age or older, an acceptable photo ID with a Date of Birth on it. EX: Drivers License, Non Driver ID, Benefit Card, Passport, and/or Military ID. For those under the age of 16 Birth Certificate or photocopy of a Birth Certificate is required. If  your bringing a child one of the parents needs to be present (inmate or visitor).

Inmates are only allowed 2 adult visitors, or 1 adult visitor a child over the age of 5 or child under the age of 5. Children under the age of 5 are required to sit on the adult visitors lap during the entire visit.

What am I allowed to bring into the visiting room?

NOTHING is allowed into the visitation room.

Visitors will not be allowed in the Visitation Room with hooded sweatshirts, coats, hats, purses, diaper bags, packages, keys, tobacco products, phones, candy, gum, drinks etc.

You will be asked to leave your property either in your car or in a locker located within the lobby or you will not be allowed in.

All visitors will be subject to a search electronically, for contraband before entering the visitation room.

What days am I allowed to visit and for how long?

Inmates are allowed 2 visits a week and are an hour each.  
Visit days will depend on what housing unit they are in.

What is contraband?

Contraband is any article or thing that a person confined in a detention facility is prohibited from obtaining or possessing by statute, rule, regulation or order.
