MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
FULTON, HAMILTON, HERKIMER, MONTGOMERY OR SARATOGA COUNTY
RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED
This is a permanent vacancy in the Fulton County Highway and Facilities Department.
2024 Salary: $23.90
Typical Work Activities (Illustrative but not exhaustive):
Operates a single or tandem axle truck in connection with the collection of garbage, ashes, snow, sand and in the transportation of passengers, equipment, sand gravel and supplies;
Operates a 4 – 10 ton roller, snow plow or snow blower, vacuum sweeper;
Occasionally performs minor repairs on automotive equipment;
Performs manual labor, such as loading trucks, cleaning culverts and shoveling snow; etc.
Oversees the work of laborers engaged in loading and unloading trucks.

Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in the operation of some type of automotive equipment, and completion of a standard grade school course, or any equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.
Special Requirement: If the position requires operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle, appropriate licensure is required.
A Civil Service Examination will be held for this position at a later date.
