TUBERCULOSIS
Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease usually affecting the lungs (pulmonary TB). Other parts of the body can also be affected such as the lymph nodes, kidneys, bones, joints, etc. (extrapulmonary TB.)

Screening tests for TB are available by appointment for qualified Fulton County residents. Persons found to be infected with TB will be followed by Public Health nurses and seen by a nurse practitioner or physician in our clinic setting.

Public Health Law mandates Public Health nurses to conduct follow-up reports of TB infected persons and their contacts, even if those persons wish private care.

Fulton County Public Health does not provide occupational medicine. If you need a PPD, check with your health care provider or contact Eastern Medical Services at (518) 843-6860 or Hometown Health at (518) 627-2110.
